Unit 35 : Task 1 Norman McLaren: Past Practise: Norman McLaren is a past practitioner in the art world, who was born in Scotland in 1914 and died in Canada in 1987. Production Log #2 (09/05/2017) Introduction into Eight Artists #2: We continued and finished the Introduction into the eight artists, we research into Sam Taylor-Wood, Georgina Starr, Steve McQueen, and Norman McLaren. We again made notes on the four artists and at the end of the lesson we chose what artists we would be talking about and comparing. The criteria of who we could chose had to be one male and one female, but also one of them had to be a practitioner before the 20th century and one had to be a practitioner from current day. The artists I have decided to chose are: Male Artist (Current Practice): Steve McQueen Female Artist (Past Practice): Sam-Taylor Wood

In the lesson we looked at two male artists and two female artists, these where Gillian Wearing, Rachel Maclean, Jeff Keen, and Peter Greenaway. We looked into their work, and then wrote notes about them and their work towards modern visual art and exhibitions. This was important to do this so we could get an idea of what artist we would want to chose and helped to ...
